Shelly R. Ibach, Board Chair

Shelly Ibach, Sleep Number® setting 40, is Chair of the Board of Directors of Sleep Number Corporation. She was previously President and CEO from June 2012 until April 7, 2025. Shelly’s visionary leadership and consumer acuity have transformed the one-time mattress retailer into a consumer wellness leader. Through courageous, industry-defining decisions and strategic consistency, she has enabled Sleep Number’s life-changing sleep innovations, improving millions of lives and delivering meaningful consumer value.

After joining the company in April 2007, Shelly served across a wide breadth of executive leadership roles in consumer strategy, sales, marketing and product development, including Chief Operating Officer in 2011. In 2022, she added Board Chair to her role as President and CEO. Prior to Sleep Number, Shelly honed her instincts as an expert retailer, brand innovator, and sales and finance leader in over 20 years at Target Corporation and Macy’s. 

Michael Harrison, Lead Director

Michael J. Harrison, Sleep Number® setting 40, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in December, 2011. In May 2022, he was elected as Lead Director. From August 2016 to January 2017, Mr. Harrison served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Grand Circle Corporation, a leader in overseas small group travel serving Americans aged 50 and older. Prior to joining Grand Circle, Mr. Harrison served as an advisor to consumer brand companies from December 2012 to July 2016. From 2003 through November of 2012, Mr. Harrison served in a variety of executive positions for Timberland, a leading brand of outdoor footwear, apparel and gear, including as the Chief Brand Officer from 2009 through November 2012, as co-President from 2007-2009, as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing from 2005-2007, and as Senior Vice President International from 2003-2005. Prior to joining Timberland, Mr. Harrison served in various marketing, operations and general management capacities with Procter & Gamble - in Europe, U.S., Australia and Asia, including as President of Max Factor KK (Japan) and Vice President of Western Europe Cosmetics & Skin Care products.

Phillip M. Eyler, Chair-Elect

Phillip M. Eyler, Sleep Number® setting 40, has served on Sleep Number's Board since 2022. From 2017 until January 2025, Mr. Eyler served as President and CEO of Gentherm Incorporated (Nasdaq: THRM), where he implemented the company's Focused Growth strategy and led the repositioning of the company's business lines. During his tenure, the company achieved all-time highs in revenue and new business awards and expanded operating margins. Mr. Eyler remains a senior advisor to Gentherm and also currently serves on the board of Sensata Technologies Holdings plc (NYSE: ST). Prior to joining Gentherm, Mr. Eyler served in a series of escalating leadership roles over 20 years, from 1997 to November 2017, at Harman International, an $8 billion audio electronics company, culminating in a two-year tenure as President of its Connected Car Division.

Linda A. Findley, President and Chief Executive Officer

Linda A. Findley, Sleep Number^® setting 45, serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer for Sleep Number. Ms. Findley joined Sleep Number on April 7, 2025 and is an accomplished senior executive leading consumer brands that combine digital and physical products, with specific expertise in operations management, organizational transformation, marketing strategy, and global expansion. She served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Blue Apron Holdings, Inc. from 2019 to 2024. From 2016 to 2018, she was the Chief Operating Officer at Etsy, Inc. (“Etsy”) (Nasdaq: ETSY), where she oversaw product, design, marketing, and customer engagement and acquisition. Prior to Etsy, Ms. Findley held a variety of senior executive roles at Evernote Corp. from 2012 to 2015, including most recently as Chief Operating Officer, and led global marketing, business development, and customer service for Alibaba.com Ltd. from 2009 to 2012, based out of Hong Kong. Ms. Findley has served on the board of directors of Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL) since August 2018 and serves as board chair for HeliosX since February 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill and an undergraduate degree in Corporate Communications from Elon University.

Angel L. Mendez

Angel L. Mendez, Sleep Number® setting 45, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in January 2022. Since 2020, Mr. Mendez has served as the Executive Chairman of LevaData, Inc., an artificial intelligence company that powers the smartest supply chains in the world. Previously, from 2016 to 2020, Mr. Mendez served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of HERE Technologies, a multinational organization that delivers location intelligence software and platform services. Mr. Mendez spent 10 years, from 2005 to 2015, as a senior executive at Cisco Systems, a global IT solutions and services company, leading its corporate transformation program as well as its global supply chain, including demand management, strategic sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and customer support. He also served in senior roles leading global operations, supply chain management and global procurement at Palm, Inc., Gateway, Inc. and Citigroup, and in various executive positions at Allied Signal Aerospace and GE. Mr. Mendez also serves as an independent director to Peloton Interactive and Kinaxis, Inc., which provides agility and resiliency to supply chains across the globe.

Barbara R. Matas

Barbara R. Matas, Sleep Number® setting 30, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in April 2016. Ms. Matas served as Head of Leveraged Finance at Citigroup from December 2006 until her retirement from Citigroup in April 2016. Ms. Matas served as Managing Director and Chairman, Leveraged Finance at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. from 2013 to 2016, and Co-head from 2006 to 2013. From 1985 to 2006, she held various leadership positions in leveraged finance and high yield capital markets at Citicorp, Salomon Brothers and Citigroup. She began her career as an Auditor at Touche Ross & Co. Ms. Matas has substantial expertise in capital structure and financial strategy gained through more than 30 years of professional experience in advising boards and management teams on capital markets, capital structure and risk assessment and management.

Brenda J. Lauderback

Brenda J. Lauderback, Sleep Number® setting 70, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in February 2004. Ms. Lauderback served as President of the Retail and Wholesale Group for the Nine West Group, Inc., a designer and marketer of women’s footwear and accessories, from May 1995 until January 1998. Prior to Nine West, Ms. Lauderback was President of Wholesale and Manufacturing for US Shoe Corporation, where she was responsible for sales, product design and offices in China, Spain and Italy. Ms. Lauderback served 18 years with the Department Store Division of Target Corporation in a variety of capacities, including 13 years as Vice President and General Manager for Shoes, Accessories, Cosmetics, Intimate Apparel and Children's. Ms. Lauderback also serves as a director of Denny’s Corporation and Wolverine World Wide, Inc. Ms. Lauderback also served as a director of Big Lots, Inc., Louisiana-Pacific Corporation and Irwin Financial Corporation.

Deb Kilpatrick

Deborah L. Kilpatrick, Ph.D., Sleep Number® setting 40, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in May 2018. Effective in March 2023, Ms. Kilpatrick became the Executive Chair of the Board of Evidation Health, Inc., a digital health company. From August 2020 to March 2023, Ms. Kilpatrick served as the Co-Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chair of the Board of Evidation Health, Inc. From 2014 to 2020, Ms. Kilpatrick served as Chief Executive Officer of Evidation Health, Inc. From 2006 to 2014, Ms. Kilpatrick was the Chief Commercial Officer of CardioDx, a genomic diagnostics company. From 1998 to 2006, Ms. Kilpatrick held multiple leadership roles at Guidant Corporation (now Boston Scientific, NYSE: BSX ), a medical device company, including Research Fellow, Director of R&D, and Director of New Ventures in the Vascular Intervention Division. Ms. Kilpatrick serves on the Georgia Tech College of Engineering Advisory Board (former chair) and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

Hilary A. Schneider

Hilary Schneider, Sleep Number® setting 40, serves as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors of Shutterfly, Inc., following her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Shutterfly, Inc. from 2020 until 2023. She also serves as a senior advisor for TPG Inc. and Water.org, Inc., a non-profit organization. Prior to joining Shutterfly, Ms. Schneider served as Chief Executive Officer of Wag! Group Co., the country’s leading on-demand mobile dog walking and dog care service, from 2018 to 2019. Prior to this role, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of LifeLock, Inc., the leader in identity theft protection, from March 2016 until its acquisition by Symantec Corp. in February 2017. Ms. Schneider previously served in a variety of senior roles at Yahoo! Inc. from 2006 to 2010, including leading the company’s Global Partner Solutions and Local Markets and Commerce divisions. Prior to joining Yahoo! Inc., she held senior leadership roles at Knight Ridder, Inc. from 2002 to 2005, including Chief Executive Officer of Knight Ridder Digital. From 2000 to 2002, Ms. Schneider served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Herring Communications. She also held numerous roles at Times Mirror Company from 1990 to 2000, including President and Chief Executive Officer of Times Mirror Interactive and General Manager of the Baltimore Sun. Ms. Schneider currently serves on the boards of DigitalOcean Holdings Inc., Getty Images Holdings Inc., and Vail Resorts Inc.

Julie M. Howard

Julie M. Howard, Sleep Number® setting 40, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in May 2020. From March 2021 to October 2023, Ms. Howard was the Chief Executive Officer of Riveron Consulting, LLC, a national business advisory firm specializing in accounting, finance, technology and operations. Ms. Howard is the former Chief Executive Officer of Navigant Consulting, Inc., a specialized global professional services firm, from March 2012 to October 2019 and the former Chairman of the Board of Navigant from May 2014 to October 2019. Ms. Howard held previous leadership positions with Navigant including President (2006-2012), Chief Operating Officer (2003-2006) and Chief Human Capital Officer (2000-2003). Ms. Howard currently serves on the Board of Manpower Group as its Lead Director. In addition, she serves on the Board of Riveron and Treliant. Ms. Howard’s prior public company board service includes InnerWorkings and Kemper.

Stephen E. Macadam

Stephen E. Macadam (Steve), Sleep Number® setting 60, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in November 2023. From 2008 to 2019, Mr. Macadam served as President and Chief Executive Officer of EnPro Industries, Inc., a manufacturer and provider of precision industrial components, solutions, and services. Previously, from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Macadam served as Chief Executive Officer of BlueLinx Holdings, Inc., a wholesale distributor of building and industrial products in the United States. Earlier in his career, Mr. Macadam was President and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Container Company LLC, the second largest blow molder of rigid plastic containers in North America at the time. Earlier, Mr. Macadam served with Georgia‐Pacific Corporation where he held the positions of Executive Vice President, Pulp & Paperboard, and Senior Vice President, Containerboard & Packaging. He also served as a consultant and then as a Partner at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Macadam currently serves as an independent director to Atmus Filtration Technologies, Inc., and Louisiana-Pacific Corporation.

Stephen L. Gulis Jr

Stephen L. Gulis, Jr., Sleep Number® setting 45, was appointed to the Sleep Number Board of Directors in July 2005. From April 1996 to October 2007, Mr. Gulis was the Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of Wolverine World Wide, Inc., a global marketer of branded footwear, apparel and accessories (WWW). From October 2007 until his retirement in July of 2008, he served as Executive Vice President and President of Global Operations for WWW. From 1988 to 1996, Mr. Gulis served in various other management capacities with WWW, including CFO, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President Finance and Administration of the Hush Puppies Company. Prior to joining WWW, he served six years on the audit staff of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Gulis also serves as a director for Independent Bank Corporation. In addition to his board positions, Mr. Gulis serves as an independent financial, operations and management advisor to several privately held organizations.
